Optical locator station (OLS)

OLS is installed onboard MiG-29M/M2, MiG-35 aircraft and provides surveillance of ground and air targets around the clock, in visual and adverse weather conditions.

OLS performs the following missions:

• detection, lock-on and tracking of air and ground targets;
• measurement of range, angular coordinates and angular speeds of targets;
• generation of TV, IR, TV + IR images on multifunctional displays;
• illumination of ground targets with laser light;
• discrete tracking of two targets.
