Geodetic laser autonomous spherical satellite (GLASS)
Weighing 34 kg and being 240 mm in diameter , the satellite of the new GLASS generation is made entirely of glass and consists of 60 corner reflectors placed inside a glass ball. Unlike its metal predecessors", t he dielectric material of the satellite housing excludes the influence of the Earth's magnetic field on the satellite’s rotation around its own axis, which is specially given to it for averaging the measurement data.
