The Optical locator station
The Optical locator station (OLS) is installed onboard aircrafts and provides surveillance of ground and air targets around the clock, in visual and adverse weather conditions.
OLS performs the following missions:
- Detection, lock-on and tracking of air and ground targets;
- Measurement of range and angular coordinates and angular speeds of targets;
- Generation of TV, IR, TV + IR images on multifunctional displays;
- Data output to the aircraft aiming-navigation system;
- Determination of range to a ground target by laser emission;
- Discrete tracking of 4 targets.
