GLONASS fundamental support system laser station (LS KSFO)
LS KSFO is intended for:
- Precision measurement of slant range distance to geodetic spacecraft quipped with laser retroreflector systems and transmission of the obtained results to the ballistic centers;
- Precision measurement laser pulse dispatch time in the station time scales or in the time scale of the external frequency standard to the navigation spacecraft equipped with laser pulse reception modules and transmission of the measurement results to the ballistic centers with the purpose to find laser pseudo-range to the navigation spacecraft, to determine divergence of the onboard and ground time scales, as well as for precision laser transmission of time over large distances;
- Pseudo-range measurement by codes and phase of the carrier frequency of the spacecraft navigation signals and transmission of the measurement results to the ballistic centers for the purpose of their calibration with reference to laser range measurements and pseudo-range, finding of hardware delays in the onboard and ground navigation equipment.
